Remembering a flower or plant popping through soil, swaying in the breeze, or calling to mind sumptuous hues, can be a powerful experience. Sensuous memories of the joy of colour can surface just by looking at a strand of grass or a berry here or there. The humble and the showy live happily together in flower beds. Here in this collection, photography is combined with my painted backgrounds to echo garden diversity or to enhance the characteristics of a flower or plant.
The monochrome images in this collection offer a different experience. Form and texture become more prominent when subjects are stripped of colour. The imagination is free to roam.
