Wexford has beautiful beaches and an amazing coast. But, like virtually every other coast in the world, we are plagued by plastic detritus that washes in with the tides and washes out through our rivers.
Everywhere I walk by the sea and along our rivers I come across plastic waste and it is always depressing to see. It pollutes our waters and coast, threatens wildlife and has even entered our bodies as microplastics.
In order to deal with my own reaction to this ecological disaster I photograph what I find. My images are sometimes weird, sometimes funny. They are not pretty but perhaps they are thought-provoking.
We can all help to make things better and maybe by showing my images more people will feel they want to take action.
